Join Me in my Vision
By Pastor Jordan Palangyos
My dream for a church building started with
this. This is how our Sunday school children look like every Sunday. No tables,
no chairs but we can always find alternatives and children can always learn as
long as God enables us to teach.
My wife usually donates materials such as crayons, pencils
and other materials. However, I dream for a more sustainable community church
that would empower the youth, the children, and the community. A church that
would have tables and chairs for our children and members to learn the gospel
and the love of God more conducively, a church that would house training and
seminars, a church that would produce future leaders and most importantly, a
church that would produce future missionaries. God heard our prayers. It did not remain a dream.
One of the faithful members, an 85 year- old
widow, donated a parcel of her land for the church venue. She even helped us
level the land despite her age.
Through the help of some friends and the
community itself, we were able to start with two posts.
Then the two posts slowly increased until we
were able to start with the foundation.
The church construction has been very slow. The most
difficult challenge is the lack of materials.
We, the church members, the few men, the youth, and even the women with the help of a construction expert are willing to work and help each other to build our small church specially that the rainy days are fast approaching. We are inspired by the children who are hungry to learn the word of God.
A 10-dollar goes a long way. It can buy one
piece of steel bar and one bag of cement.
God is a God of providence. I know that one day, our children wouldn’t have to squat on the soil to color or to have their Sunday school. Thank you for the support. God bless your heart. Below is the breakdown of the budget for the whole church construction.
