Mission during Pandemic This pandemic changed the world and introduced many changes. It may be very difficult for some to adjust to the new normal specially that the number of new COVID 19 positive cases are rising day by day specially in our city. Most places here in the Philippines have been under lockdowns for five months already; thus, the difficulty for mobility and company bankruptcies. Most companies like bus companies, malls, restaurants, schools and others have suffered much and the fear of economic recession is escalating every day. Churches are closed and church activities are cancelled. Mission works are halted as well. I cannot go to the mountains due to lock downs. However, God is still good. He indeed works in mysterious ways. Churches may be closed and my mission in the mountains may be temporarily halted but some families in my neighborhood here in the city have opened their houses for us to study God’s word. BAPTISM AFTER SEMINAR God is amazing and wonderful for the mission is alive and moving. One whole family and six individuals decided to have their Baptism last Sunday. Other believers will follow on the 27 th this month. The pandemic and other problems cannot stop God’s Word; problems could slow us down but it can never stop the wisdom and power of God. He always gives inspiration and lessons for His followers to sharpen their arsenals to combat the hindrance in proclaiming God’s salvation. Jesus Loves the little Children

Opening a congregation is tough and challenging especially if working as an independent missionary. Plans, strategies and resources must be done carefully. I am so blessed to have a wife who really supports me in doing mission work. Our work started when an unknown guy invited us to visit in their place. A mountainous area for we have to travel more than an hour to reach the place. It is tough in the beginning for only 3 to 4 adults are coming to listen and attend worship. I am so disappointed and wanted to quit and look for a place more receptive to the Gospel. One Sunday my family went to serve together with my two kids; to our surprise 11 little children are sitting and waiting for us that Sunday. We are stunned and asked who sent them? God, Our Roof in the Storm of Life Despite some petty problems, mission was doing great and was going smoothly before the Pandemic. However, when the pandemic hit us, all the works had to be stopped including the construction of our small chapel. A lot of our plans had to be reevaluated and reconsidered. But one thing is constant: we hold on to our faith. With different COVID variants every now and then, check points are becoming tighter and tighter. It came to a point that I was sent back many times because of this virus. I already lost hope because one of our layman is sick and cannot continue to do missions anymore. Raise the Roof After days of waiting; we figured out that professional welders' service is a necessity. Members admitted that the help they can contribute are limited. Fortunately, I got acquainted with my new neighbors in the city who are professional welders. We planned to visit the place to do some assessment. I told them that the best time to travel was on Sunday so I can have a free ride going to the mountain but of course I contributed some money for the gasoline. Below are pictures of my new neighborhood. We traveled at 7:00 am and arrived at around 9. The children were already waiting for their Sunday school. We had a good time travelling knowing one another and I also took the opportunity to teach about Jesus. Dodoy, their leader, surveyed the place and estimated that the labor cost for the roof welding is 1200 dollars (60,000 pesos).
