Carabao

Pastor Palangyos titled the blog Lutheran Cowboys Philippines because of our admiration for traditional country music and our farming backgrounds. American traditional country music is popular in the Philippines' highlands where much of our current mission efforts are. Our logo, designed by Rovi Estrada , consists of a cowboy riding a carabao. Carabao (water ox), the symbol of hard work, patience, strength and considered by many to be the national animal of the Philippines has been used by man in numerous accounts of recorded history in the Philippines. The Murillo Velarde Map published in 1734 depicts the carabao as an integral part of the Filipino life used as a domesticated animal in the fields and as a means of transportation similar to horses and camels. GOD'S HOUSE

GOD'S HOUSE The building of this worship house was filled with magnificent stories about dedication, hardship and sacrifice. I am sure that Grandma Mokging is in heaven. I cannot imagine her joy communicating in God's presence. Mission continues and works will not end. The chapel is not 100 percent completed so peace loving believers should help carry the task. Peace is always part of proclaiming God's Word; self-righteous people will only hinder works. Theological debates is just a waste of time and energy. As I always said "when Lutheran fight, the CULTS rejoice". Despite our loss of faithful believers, let us continue running and passing the sweetness of salvation. Hatred, criticisms and gossips are always there. They pull us to surrender but the more we encounter such, the more we should pray . In doing so, God will help us to be stronger and wiser. . God, Our Roof in the Storm of Life Despite some petty problems, mission was doing great and was going smoothly before the Pandemic. However, when the pandemic hit us, all the works had to be stopped including the construction of our small chapel. A lot of our plans had to be reevaluated and reconsidered. But one thing is constant: we hold on to our faith. With different COVID variants every now and then, check points are becoming tighter and tighter. It came to a point that I was sent back many times because of this virus. I already lost hope because one of our layman is sick and cannot continue to do missions anymore. Evangelist Talban is the last man standing in the mountain without any help but God’s work is amazing. The members decided to work as a team to finish the roof. Materials were already purchased before the pandemic. All they have to do is work together to build the roof.
